| The AZIR association for the protection of environment came into the world in 1996 in the city of AL-Hoceima, further to a common initiative of a group of young intellectuals contours of which vary between professors of languages, of professors of biology,communal civil servants, students, of qualified jobless,and, sailors. The founders of the association aspired to the realization of two main objectives : awareness and consciousness of the peoples of the region on the importance of the environment and the fight against the degradation of environmental framework in this area of the Mediterranean sea.
