Abstract
In het kader van de Vlaams-Nederlandse samenwerking inzake Wetenschap en technologie zijn de wederzijds betrokken ministers samenwerking overeengekomen op gebied van zeeonderzoek. Het Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek Vlaanderen (F.W.O.-Vl) en de Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO) zijn aangewezen om de uitvoering hiervan te coördineren.

De doelstelling van dit project is de bevordering van duurzame wetenschappelijke samenwerking op gebied van estuarien/ kustgebonden wetenschappelijk onderzoek.

De inhoudelijke thema's zijn in vier groepen ondergebracht:

  • Groep 1: Biodiversiteit

    -Voorkomen van habitats langs het Schelde estuarium en in het Scheldebekken

    -Soorten-diversiteit

  • Groep 2: Stofkringlopen en de rol van biota hierin

    -Cycli van C, nutriënten en andere elementen

    -Systeemgerichte ecotoxicologie

  • Groep 3: Socio-economische aspecten van integraal waterbeheer

    -Socio-economische aspecten

  • Groep 4: Herstelplannen en geïntegreerd beheer

    -Experimenteel ecologisch herstel

    -Geïntegreerde modellering
