Welcome to the Contact Search Mechanism (CSM) of ENCORA Suppose you have an urgent coastal question and you have to deliver an answer soon. If you work in a big company, you may have colleagues that can help you with the answer or know someone who knows. However, if you do not find any help within your organisation you may have to do a web search to look for people who have published about your question. But introducing the word ‘coast’ in Google yields half a billion hits which is not so helpful. Now you have an alternative When ? When you are facing a new problem, for which you cannot rely on standard expertise in your organisation, you can submit your request on-line to the Coastal Forum of ENCORA to search for colleagues/experts around Europe working on (or with experience of) similar problems, to share knowledge and experience on scientific, practical or political coastal issues and to cooperate on the solution of your problem. For whom ? ENCORA facilitates contact search for coastal professionals working on problems related to coastal management, policy or science. You may use the forum for posting partner queries in a series of coastal cases such as: - to develop new technology to perform fundamental research
- to solve a particular, site-specific problem
- to implement new policy strategies
- to submit joint proposals
The CSM is available for anyone working in the Coastal Zone; scientists, practitioners, engineers, managers, consultants, planners and policymakers are welcome to make use of it.
