Newquay

Administrative Port: Newlyn
County: Cornwall
Population: 20836

Newquay is a town and seaside resort in Cornwall, England, and is situated on the North Atlantic coast of Cornwall. The town is bounded to the west by the River Gannel and its associated salt marsh, and to the east by the Porth Valley. Up to the early 20th century, the small fishing port was famous for pilchards and the town's present insignia is two pilchards. However Newquay’s main industry is tourism, with this popular destination often seeing its population rise 5–fold during the peak summer months.[1]
