Biogenic structures certainly are important. A description of several types could be given (there are several books on it, e.g. a book edited by Karsten Reise on a Sylt symposium). The reference is an interesting one, but would relate to all ecotopes. Suggestion: either work out an overview of Biologically mediated habitat or go into goods and services of coastal ecosystems
