The term 'Common' is a qualitative concept. In this definition it is defined as 'moderate density', however 'Moderate' is also a qualitative concept. We need some way to quantify what is meant by common. Often an indication of percentage cover in a defined area is used. Common in terms of distribution, if often based on no. defined grid squares in which recorded as a proportion of total. Need to discuss.
