This is a very informative short article. For non-specialists it may be useful to include some examples, for instance of feeding guilds as functional groups. Also a diagram illustrating how 'grouping in trait space' may take place, could enhance insight. This is a very abstract notion that will scare many readers off.
The references still need to be added to the paper. Also the style of referencing still needs to be adapted.
