Definition of Strand plain:
Strand plains are shoreline deposits of coastal plains that form progradational terraces or step-like constructional terraces[1]. Progradational strand plains may consist of (1) a barrier island and lagoon system, (2) a coastal wetland, or (3) a chenier plain.
